Young Women Writers is a blog for budding writers and seasoned veterans alike. It is a place for writers to converge to think and write as one.

The site, while not exclusively about writing, focuses on bringing writers together in a fun and encouraging atmosphere to promote creativity and creative growth.

Writing Prompts for Writers or People who Like to Write

Most posts, while each emblazoned with the author's own personal flair and humerous quips, include a writing prompt. These range all the way from simple "write a paragraph about your day" to more complicated "write a sestina about an intimate encounter" assignments. They are both fun and challenging for writers of any level/style. The prompts are a great way to get the creative juices flowing as wel as a constructive way to spend free time.

They are also great for aiding and/or curing writer's block. The latest prompt is a simple haiku exercise and can be found here. Check it out and make a contribution to a budding writing community. Participation is always encouraged, but not mandatory for participation in the day's prompt. So do not feel pressured to submit your creative attempts.
