Blog networks are the latest places online to find paying work. Some of the larger networks should be watched for great blogging job opportunities.
Blogging is all the rage these days, and for good reason. Their format allows for quick and frequent updates, bringing people back on a regular basis. It’s the perfect way to create a loyal readership. It used to be a format for personal journal-type sites, but it's gone well beyond that. The latest field for employment, is the professional blog. Yes, you can actually get a job as a blogger and actually earn money doing it. There are numerous jobs out there for this, but the best place to find a paying blogger jobs is with a network. There are a handful of good companies whose business it is to start blogs on a popular topic, and they usually hire someone to maintain it. You generally apply for a specific blog, and they are required to maintain it with frequent posts. b5mediaThe b5media network of blogs is one of the largest, with 290 blogs arranged in 15 different topic areas. They are often adding new blogs so they are worth checking out. There is a generic application page if you want to apply, but specific topics-wanted are not listed. It's up to you to propose a blog topic. Their blogs are interconnected with links and a common branded banner, so that traffic is boosted for everyone in the network, which makes b5media blogs very successful. Each site has a similar but distinctive look. 451 pressAnother very large blog network based on local cities, lifestyles and interests. They do maintain a list of wanted blogs, so check that out to see if they have an opening that interests you. They have a varied selection of topics, but some tend to overlap (Natural and Sustainable sounds awfully similar to Environmental Talk). The sites from 451 Press are interconnected, just like with b5media, giving you the added exposure and traffic that comes with a big network. Each site does look very much alike, and tends to be quite ad-heavy. Weblogs Inc.A smaller network with only 90 blogs. Most are technological in theme, but there are a few general lifestyle ones as well. Unlike the above 2 networks, you aren't hired to maintain an entire blog. You submit an application to write for the existing blogs, along with other writers as well. Simply Good MediaNot a large network, but they are expanding. Currently they only have a few fashion and shopping blogs under their belts, and their website really offers very little information. Keep your eye on Simply Good as an up-and-coming fashion blog network. Though each of these sites has their own application process, you can often find job postings from them (and others) on the Problogger jobs board. There are many other blogging networks out there, though not all are actively expanding or hiring new bloggers.
