For moe advanced users, there are a number of ways that the blogs can be customized through the advanced editing links. Advanced users can redesign the site to fit their own specifications.

Making Money With Blogger

Unlike the free blogs hosted by Wordpress, blogger's free blogs are open to many types of blog advertising. One of the easiest to set up is AdSense. Blogger has integrated AdSense as a part of the set up. With a few clicks, the blogger's own AdSense account is used for the ads displayed on the blog.

Blogger has no rules about paid posts. Using a site like PayPerPost or Smorty can bring in added income from the blog. Sites like these usually require that the blog be at least a month, though some require a minimum of 90 days. They will also require the blog to have been updated regularly.

Timing a Blog Post

The current Blogger functions do not include a way to time blog posts for a future date. This can make it difficult to keep the blog updated during times when the blogger is traveling or has family commitments. This keeps some bloggers away from the site in favor of other free blogs that have a timestamping function.

Moderating Comments

Blogger offers several options for moderating comments from readers. For bloggers without the time to continually moderate comments, there are settings to allow any comments from anyone without any need for moderation. The blogger can also choose to be more selective in the comments they accept. They can choose to allow comments from registered users of the site only, from members of Google only or to a more select group of only those who are writers of the blog.

Multiple Blog Writers

There is a Blogger option, located under the Settings tab, that allows the blog originator to allow others to write for the blog. There are 100 writers allowed for any one blog. This can be a way for a group to stay in in-depth communication or it can be a way for several people to share a blog on the same topic.

Blogger is easy enough for a beginning blogger to set up a blog in minutes and get started. It allows enough customization to make it fit just about any need.
